NATIVE NOOK: Sunshine Kit
ORDER BY 4-1-25
Perfect for the DIY spirit with a garden on the drier side in the sun. This pre-set kit is a 49 sq. ft. oasis for the endangered Monarch Butterfly and the Rusty Patch Bumblebee. Each plant has been selected for its environmental value as a host or nectar source to less common threatened butterflies as well. Invite Skippers, Fritillaries, Checkerspots and more!
Unlike other pollinator kits, this planting comes in a robust size container to maximize your garden’s potential upon planting. A gallon size plant has achieved a maturity to quench the desire for more immediate satisfaction. Each plant will show you its flower power the first growing season. All plants have been grown from local seed in St. Charles, IL.
This combination of native perennials will bloom April to October. They have been selected for their appeal in the home landscape for a “tidy” performance. The design plan included showcases their individual habits so each species can shine, including a semi-evergreen groundcover. If left standing over winter, birds will also be attracted to the seed heads of the upright stalks.
These native plants are naturally drought tolerant. However, they will need to be consistently watered the first year to establish.
